Tanya Crone was 47 when she started taking beauty courses with the International School of Beauty Therapy – now, four years later, she’s running her own business.
Tanya, from Whitchurch, Shropshire, was going to help her husband with his renovation business, but then she landed her first beauty job at the Tranquillity Spa at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire.
She took a number of beauty courses with the International School of Beauty Therapy, including: a VTCT Level 2 NVQ Award in Providing Pedicure Services, the same level in manicure services, a VTCT Level 3 NVQ Award in Single Eyelash Extension Treatments and a course in microcurrent electrics.
Now she runs Lake View Beauty and Holistic Therapy in Whitchurch, which she set up using her own savings.
Tanya said: “I do all beauty and holistic treatments, and offer extra treatments using CACI, a cosmetology instrument which allows me to offer non-surgical facials. This is why I took the microcurrent electrics course.
“I studied in Nantwich, Crewe and Chester and it was very easy for me to travel to each location. The level of teaching was excellent and after working with girls who had been trained elsewhere, I realised how well they train you at ISOBT. I would definitely recommend the International School of Beauty Therapy for their attention to detail, small classes and client comfort.”
Samantha Boatwright, general manager of ISOBT, said: “Tanya was a pleasure to teach. She originally came to us after quite some research and her nature is to be very particular, so she sought after that with us. Following her first beauty course, we have seen Tanya again and again for courses, and now she happily models for us and for fellow students and trusts their expertise.
“I keep in contact with Tanya, as and when she requires, as we have a lifelong dedication to our learners to ensure we are always here to fall back on in their future career. In this case, I have helped Tanya with ideas to help her business.
“She’s been a pleasure to teach, with here mature and passionate approach to learning. I truly hope to see her soon, to grow her knowledge in the industry even more.”
